Rather than experiencing this just once in a blue moon, what if I told you there was a way you could have this feeling almost every day? Today I want to share a secret that will help you turn up the volume, and start your day the right way!
What was your first thought as you woke up this morning? Like most people, you probably hit snooze 2 or 3 times. Then, when you couldn’t prolong getting up any later for fear of being late, you may have thought something like, “I’m really not looking forward to today. I hate (Mon, Tues, Wednes, etc..)days. I hate going to my job.”
Most people start the day with these depressing and pessimistic thoughts. As a result, most people consistently experience bad days. These bad days turn into bad weeks, bad years, and bad decades. Then somewhere down the line, you may wake up say, “Oh crap! I’ve wasted the best years of my life!”
Here’s something I’ve learned from years of reading and interviewing successful people. You tend to manifest whatever you think about first, last and most. So if you start your day with the assumption that it won’t be enjoyable, It’s going to take a sequence of out of the ordinary, positive events to sway your perception and make you believe that today was good day. But the cool thing is this principle also works the other way around…
With a big smile on your face, repeat the phrase 3 times…and say it like you mean it! Take a couple seconds to visualize having a great day. Picture a day full of laughter, fun, and enjoying your time spent with family, friends, co-workers and customers.
Aaron taught me this secret after reading about it in a book by Brian Tracy (leaders are readers!!). I’ve made this a part of my daily routine and it has had a tremendous impact on my life! I start my day with the assumption that wonderful things will happen. And each day, like clockwork, something wonderful occurs!
Do these words magically cause wonderful things enter into my life, or am I’m just more aware of the all the wonderful things that are occuring all the time.
Who cares!?! I’m just happy that wonderful things keep happening!
So there you have it. A secret for having a wonderful day starts with uttering one simple phrase. Try it! It works!
